'Investment' for better paycheck

Seeing most of my peers going back to school for either degree or advance dip, somehow tempts me to follow their path too.

used to think degree is Something that is totally not worth to pursue as the amount of fees u going to fork up takes about 10 yrs to earn back.

Why is it so? Let's say if u take up a 16months part time degree course, the pay rise only starts after u graduate. By then, it takes another  7 years to get back ur hard earned school fees Which is only about less than 10% of ur current payslip every month. Total 2 yrs +7yrs = 9 yrs It isn't a good investment of ur time and money! If I put the sum of $$ in a 10yr investment plan,my returns will definately be more !!

On the other hand, if I look from the other point of view, this is just the worst case scenario. The pay will be even more attractive in private sectors with a degree cert. Morever, the fees is getting more expensive each yr with a difference of 1-2 k? So if I keep on procrastinating, the 'returns' will be much Lesser. And if I wanna to stay in this industry, a degree cert is mandatory for better paycheck.

What's more, it will be very difficult to juggle with studies, work and family if I settled down in future . Unless I've decided to switch industry, or else, degree cert is important for better career prospects in future. I shall treat this as long  term low risk investment ba, hahahahahha :D

I would want to finish my studies before settling down. I seriously would want to enjoy my single life before being tied down to family in a few years time.

Okay, I've finally sorted out my thinking :) Now I shall just work hard to tide over this stressful period . Yayness , 2 more weeks to FREEDOM!!! :)
